By-Law refers to a law of local or limited application.  A By-Law is passed under the authority of a higher law which specifies the by-laws regulations.

Each By-Law requires public notice and readings before Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations gives its final approval and it is implemented by Council and the By-Law Enforcement Officer.

These Municipal By-Laws refer to the internal rules of  the Municipality of the District of Shelburne and its residents.
