Fees Policy

1. This Policy is entitled “Fees Policy”.
2. This Policy applies except to the extent of any conflict with applicable provincial Legislation, and, where the fee amounts in this Policy differ from those set out in a By-Law, Recorded Resolution, Policy or Resolution of the Municipality in effect on the effective date of this Policy, the fee amounts set out in this Policy shall amend those previously in effect.
3. The fees to be paid to the Municipality for each of the following licenses, approvals or services are set in, or amended to, the respective amounts shown below.
  Application Fee for Subdivision Approval $330.00 plus tax
  Tax Certificates, pursuant to the Municipal government Act $40.00
  Fee to be charged for cheques returned by the Bank for any reason $20.00
  Applications under the Freedom of Information Act $5.00
  Fees for staff time to retrieve information pursuant
To requests under the Freedom of Information Act
$15.00 for each ˝ hr
  Charge for photocopies of such information
$0.20 per sheet
  Building Permit Application and Inspection Fees of all sorts, and at all stages of construction or readiness for occupancy for new construction, additions, renovations, and demolitions, occupancy pursuant to the Municipalities Building By-Law and the Building Code Act As set out on Schedule “A” to this Policy
  The Warden or Clerk may affix the Corporate Seal to any document for the purpose of Authentication

$1.50 per document

  Impound fees for animals at large As set out in Schedule “B” to this Policy
  Registration fee for dogs $10.00 for the life of the dog
  Sewer Charges $100.00 Connection Fee
Annual Service Fee $260.00

  Fees for permits shall be as follows:  
  Residential up to 4 units $0.10/sq. ft.+ $25.00
  4 units and over $0.14/sq. ft. + $50.00
  Residential Repairs & Renovations $1.00/$1,000 + $25.00
  Additions to Residential $0.10/sq. ft. + $25.00
  Residential Outbuildings $0.04/sq. ft. + $25.00
  Patio, Decks, Steps, Car-Ports etc $1.00/$1,000 + $25.00
  Assembly $0.14/sq. ft. + $50.00
  Commercial $0.14/sq. ft. + $50.00
  Industrial $0.14/sq. ft. +$50.00
  Institutional $0.14/sq. ft. + $50.00
  Addition to Commercial, Industrial, Institutional $0.14/sq. ft. + $50.00
  Repairs & Renovations other than Residential $1.00/$1,000 + $50.00
  Out buildings other than Residential $0.06/sq. ft. + $35.00
  Relocation of an Existing Structure or Mobile Home $50.00
  Demolition of a building up to 500 sq. ft. $15.00
  500 sq. ft. and over $35.00
  Location of New Mobile Homes $0.10/sq. ft. + $25.00
  Replacement of a single family dwelling $0.10/sq. ft. + $25.00

(a) Any expired permit may be renewed upon payment of a $5.00 fee provided that at least one inspection has been carried out by the authority having jurisdiction within a twelve (12) month period either from date of issuance or last renewal date.
(b) There shall be no refund of fees paid in relation to a permit application which is later deemed to have been abandoned.
(c) There shall be a refund of seventy five (75%) of the permit fee for any permit which has been cancelled.
SCHEDULE “B”
  The poundkeeper shall demand and receive the following fees for any livestock lawfully impounded, which shall be paid by the owner or his agent before such livestock are released:
 
  • For impounding one or more cattle, horses, ponies or mules, the sum of $25.00 each per day.

  • For impounding one or more sheep, swine, goats or poultry, the sum of $15.00 each per day.

  • Fee for advertisement in a newspaper, $25.00.

  • Fee for each notice posted or given, $10.00 each.

  • For necessary travel, as per the Provincial Government rate.

  • For trucking expense for the transportation of livestock, $1.00 per km.

  • For maintenance of the following animals:
 
1. For each head of cattle, horse, pony or mule, $10.00 each.
2. For each sheep, swine, or goat, $6.00 each.
3. For each poultry, $4.00 each.

 
  • Any additional out of pocket expenses, including but not limited to veterinary fees.
