Sherman Embree has served as the Municipal Warden since April 2008 and has been a Councilor since November 2004 for the easternmost district of the municipality from Lydgate and Allendale east to Sable River and Port L’Hébert and all points between. He spent more than 32 years in the Navy as an engineering officer and senior manager. Upon retirement he and his wife chose to return to the place they loved best. He was elected to protect what is good in the area and to actively pursue our sustainable development.

Sherm was born and has lived in Nova Scotia for many years. He went to school in Halifax, Montreal and Vancouver. He is a graduate of the Royal Military College and National Defence College. He now operates a woodlot and Christmas tree farm in East Sable River, enjoys sports and the outdoor life, and is active in the community. Sherm is married to Cindy (Pierce) Embree from the local area. They have three children. Their son, Sean, lives and works in Ottawa. Their two daughters have worked in the area. Renée is in Saint John, New Brunswick and Lana lives in Ottawa. They all visit regularly.
