We offer a Junior Volunteer Leader Program for youth ages 13-16.  A training/orientation workshop, and 50% of the cost of emergency first aid is provided in exchange for a commitment of a minimum of 80 hours volunteering with our summer recreation programs.  Together with our summer recreation staff they form a dynamic team of young people with lots of energy, knowledge, and skills.  Many of the young people that participate in this program like it so much that they volunteer more than the required minimum.  Some have given as many as 200+ hours during July and August.

Request for Expressions of Interest

The Municipal Council is seeking individuals from the Municipality of the District of Shelburne to serve on their Recreation & Parks Advisory Committee.

Expressions of Interest will be received from residents of the Municipality by the undersigned until 4:30pm on Monday February 1, 2010. Expressions should include a brief biography of the individual, information on skills or interests that will be useful to the Committee, previous volunteer experience, reason for wanting to serve, and preference for length of service (one to three years).
