The Municipality of the District of Shelburne provides a property tax exemption for low income earners who are residents of the Municipality. The property tax exemption is for up to $ 200.00 on the 2011/12 property taxes and is provided to the property owners whose total income from all sources, including the income of other family members residing in the household, of less than $ 18,000.00 for the 2010 calendar year. The individual must be assessed for all or a portion of the property and it must be their place of residence.
