Staff are ambitiously working to deter both littering and illegal dumping in the Shelburne area. The school children are helping to design new litter signage and the Municipal Council has approved a Litter Clean up Incentive Program which will offer $100.00/km for community groups interested in doing a litter clean up.
The Municipality has also received funding to develop a strategy for illegal dumping which will include investigation and prosecution techniques, clean-up procedures and monitoring/surveillance suggestions. We are scheduling dumpsite clean ups for fall 2010.
PLEASE REPORT A DUMPER!!
THE ONLY CURE FOR LITTERING AND ILLEGAL DUMPING IS YOU!!!! |
