Notification of Property Inspections – Fire Impacted Areas of Shelburne and Barrington
Please be advised that Property Valuation Service Corporation (PVSC), the property assessment authority for Nova Scotia, will have assessors completing property inspections in the fire-impacted areas of Shelburne and Barrington over the next few weeks.
Site inspections assist PVSC in capturing changes to the physical state of a property such as new construction, renovations, or demolitions. PVSC uses building permit information from the Municipality to assist in its data collection and inspection reviews.
Assessors will be identifiable by wearing high-visibility vests and will carry PVSC-issued IDs. As part of the inspection process assessors will complete external measurements of dwellings and decks and take pictures.
Please note, you are not required to be at home during a property inspection. If you are not home, the assessor will leave contact information and instructions if a follow-up is needed.
