Councilor Angie Shand was born in Deer Lake, Newfoundland and Labrador, and chose to make Shelburne her home 26 years ago, where she has proudly raised her family and built strong community roots.
Angie has been employed with Nova Scotia Health for the past 18 years and currently serves as the Primary Health Care Coordinator – Practice Support for the Western Zone, covering Shelburne and Yarmouth counties. In this role, she works closely with healthcare teams to support the day-to-day operations of primary care practices, ensuring systems run efficiently and patients receive high-quality care.
Deeply committed to community service, Angie actively volunteers with several local organizations, including the Shelburne County Events Committee, the Shelburne County Arena Association, and the Shelburne Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her extensive volunteer experience reflects her passion for collaboration, leadership, and giving back.
Angie is dedicated not only to making a meaningful difference within the healthcare system, but also to strengthening and supporting the Shelburne community she is proud to call home.
