When is the election?
A Special Election for District 4 will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Who is qualified to vote?
Under the Municipal Elections Act [s. 14], a person entitled to be registered on the list of electors and to vote in a municipal election must:
- be 18 years or older on ordinary polling day;
- is a Canadian citizen on ordinary polling day;
- have been ordinarily resident in the Province for a period of 6 (six) months immediately preceding the ordinary polling day; and
- is ordinarily resident in District 4 of the Municipality of Shelburne and has been so since immediately before the first advance polling day
How can I vote?
The election is fully electronic, and voting can be done from the comfort and safety of your own home by internet or telephone. In the event a person does not have access to a telephone or internet to vote electronically, or they require assistance, they can use the telephone helpline or voter kiosk.
