The Municipality of the District of Shelburne is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for capital upgrades to increase accessibility at Welkum Park, located at 8946 Upper Clyde Road, Shelburne, Nova Scotia.

NOTE: There are several amendments to the RFP that include the following:
1. Proposal submission deadline extended to June 9, 2020
2. Notification of successful proponent extended to June 16, 2020
3. Work completion date extended to October 31, 2020

Regional Materials Recovery Facility - Summer Student Position

The Municipality of the District of Shelburne is looking for a motivated and energetic university or high school student to fill a summer employment vacancy at the Regional Materials Recovery Facility (RMRF), located at 4571 Highway 3, West Green Harbour, Shelburne County.

Duties include:

  • weighing in/out vehicles
  • assisting customers with sorting
  • general site maintenance

This is a public service position; therefore, displaying a professional and positive attitude at all times is required. The successful applicant must be a student and environmental interest is considered an asset.

The pay rate is $13.00 per hour for 32.5 hours per week for 15 weeks.
