NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Government Act of Nova Scotia 1999, Part 6, that the following properties situated in the Municipality of the District of Shelburne will be sold at Public Auction at the Court House & Administration Building, 136 Hammond Street, Nova Scotia, on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 10:00am for arrears of taxes, interest and expenses due to the Municipality of the District of Shelburne, unless such arrears, interest and expenses are paid prior to such auction. PLEASE NOTE: This amount will change with the addition of monthly interest and possible miscellaneous charges against the property.
*TERMS OF SALE: Taxes, interest, expenses, plus $530.00 to record the Certificate of Sale and Tax Sale Deed must be paid at the time of the sale. The balance of the purchase price, if any, must be paid within three business (3) days of the sale. Payment methods must be cash, certified cheque, money order, bank draft, lawyer’s trust cheque or debit.
**HST is applicable on the bid price. Please bring legal HST number and legal name on the day of the auction.
NOTE: Properties with less than six (6) years taxes owing may be redeemed within six (6) months after the date of the sale as per the Nova Scotia Municipal Government Act, Section 152.
SECTION 144(2) of the Nova Scotia Municipal Government Act Purchase of Tax Sale Properties by Municipal Employees or their spouses is not permitted.
