Summer Programs 2024
Registration for all summer programs is now open.
IMPORTANT NOTICES REGARDING SUMMER REGISTRATION:
Registration is based on the grade participants are currently in, as of the 2023/2024 school year, not the grade they are going into next year.
When registering for programs we encourage you to select programs based on the participant’s interests.
WAITLISTS-If you would like to put your child/ren on a waitlist for any programs please email Recreation@municipalityofshelburne.ca
PAYMENTS- Payment is required 7 (seven) days before the start of a program. Failure to pay within the required timeframe will result in the space(s) being released. Payments accepted at the Municipal Office: cash, cheque or debit.

Summer Programs 2024
Weeklong Programs (Primary-Grade 5)
Nature Explorers –Enjoy the great outdoors! Nature themed games and crafts, scavenger hunts and Survivor Day!
July 2-5 Primary-Grade 5 Islands Provincial Park 9am-4:30pm $40/child
FUNtastic- Something for everyone at this camp. Games, crafts, themed days and more.
July 15-19 Primary-Grade 5 Shelburne Regional High School 9am-4:30pm $50/child
Wet n’ Wild- Dive into adventure this summer with a fun-filled week of swimming and games.
July 29-August 2 Primary-Grade 5 Welkum Park 9am-4:30pm $50/child
Fun in the Sun- Cool off in the summer heat at the lake. Swimming, games, and a BBQ.
August 12-16 Primary- Grade 5 Welkum Park 9am-4:30pm $50/child
Themed Days 9am-4:30pm $10/day/child
Kids in the Kitchen/Games Galore* Children will be split by grades and spend half the day in the gym playing games and half the day in the kitchen whipping up some yummy treats. *Please select only one day July 8 OR July 9

From Page to Stage- Let your imagination take centre stage this summer. Play games, make props and perform in a show on the last day for parents.

Superheroes Unite- BOOM! BAM! POW! Hone your superpowers at our superhero academy.

Holiday Fun- Celebrate the holidays with us! Holiday themed activities and crafts. Hoppy Halloween! Merry New Years!
August 22 Lower Ohio Hall 9am-Noon Primary-Grade 2 FREE
Humans vs. Zombies- Do you have what it takes to survive a Zombie Apocalypse? An epic game of tag that includes missions that must be completed in order to survive!
August 22 Islands Park 1pm-4:30pm Grades 3-6 FREE
Parent n’ Tot (Ages 3-5, Pre-school/Pre-Primary)
Activities are designed for ages 3-5 (not currently in school). An adult must accompany child/ren. Themed crafts, group games, activity stations and time to play! Other siblings are welcome to attend, but must be signed up at time of registration. Youth Surf (Ages 10+)- Learn how to surf. All equipment is provided. Led by Jeff Norman of Rossignol Surf Shop.
July 18 Crescent Beach 10am-Noon Crescent Beach $50
Kayaking (Ages 10+)- Learn how to kayak. No experience necessary. All equipment is provided. Led by a certified instructor. Registration is required.
July 30 Welkum Park 9am-11am Free
Standup Paddle Boarding (Ages 10+)- Learn how to standup paddle board. No experience necessary. All equipment is provided. Led by a certified instructor. Registration is required.

Equipment Loan Program Looking to add some fun to your summer? Borrow equipment from the Recreation Dept. Giant games, outdoor equipment and more! Call or email the Recreation Department to book.
Swim Lessons
Unfortunately at this time we will not be offering swim lessons this summer. We are working on recruiting and training swim instructors and will make every effort to offer swim lessons again in the future. Barrington Recreation does offer weekly swim lessons at the Barrington Municipal Pool (contact 902-637-2015 ext. 239).
