The Municipality is beginning the 2026/2027 budget process, which helps determine how municipal services, programs, and projects will be funded in the coming year.
📅 Key Dates
• February 26, 2026 – 8:30am to 4:30pm: Draft budget presented & deliberations
• February 27 to March 2, 2026 at noon: Opportunity for public to submit written feedback
• March 3, 2026 – 8:30am to 12:30pm: Compiled feedback from public input period presented, requests for budget changes & tax scenarios deliberated
• March 26, 2026 – 8:30am to 4:30pm: Tax scenarios to be presented
• March 27 to March 31, 2026 at noon: Opportunity for public to submit written feedback
•April 1, 2026 – 8:30am to 12:30pm: Compiled feedback from public input period presented, requests for budget changes & tax scenarios finalized
• April 15, 2026 – 6:00pm: Special Council Meeting for budget approval
🏛️ Council Review
Council will review and discuss the draft budget at the above budget meetings. These meetings are open to the public, and residents are welcome to attend for observation.
🗣️ Public Feedback
Residents will have two opportunities to provide written feedback, after the draft budget is presented on February 26th and then again after the updated draft budget & tax scenarios are presented on March 26th. All feedback can be submitted to nicole.blades@municipalityofshelburne.ca. Please see deadlines under key dates above.
