Help Imagine the Future of the Hartz Point Property

The Municipality of the District of Shelburne has purchased two parcels of land at Hartz Point — PID 80094287 and PID 82550559 — shown together on the map on the back of this sheet. With the land now in municipal ownership, Council is asking residents to help shape what comes next.
Hartz Point is located within a Special Planning Area established by the Municipality to proactively attract new business and investment. As described in the planning overlay:

“It is the policy of Council to enable a Special Planning Area (SPA) overlay within all designations. The SPA overlay shall accommodate a wide variety of uses by development agreement focused on larger scale uses or developments which realize the economic development initiatives of the Municipality. The overlay will permit uses enabled by the base zoning and consider by development agreement unique uses that support the economic development actions of the broader Municipality.”

With this in mind, all ideas and suggestions submitted should support the underlying goal of economic development and job creation and should reflect and respect the character of the surrounding area and community.
