Land Use By-law

On June 25, 2025, the Municipality of the District of Shelburne approved, by motion, their first set of comprehensive of planning documents. These documents have now been sent to the Province for ministerial approval. Once confirmation of approval is received from the Minister, the documents will be publicly published in the Vanguard newspaper. The planning documents are considered officially adopted and in effect as of their date of publication.

All development applications are required to comply with the Municipality’s Land Use By-law. Starting Fall 2025, the Municipality will be issuing required development permits for all developments. Development permits must be issued prior to obtaining any building permits. Further information and forms can be found on the Permits and Forms page.
